We have a number of regular groups and annual events for children and families of all ages.
Sunday School meets on the second and fourth Sunday’s of the month in the vestry at St Mary’s, High Offley. It is open to children of all ages and offers an opportunity for them to take part in activities and listen to a story, during the morning service. The children are brought back in to the service during communion and there is an opportunity for them to show the congregation what they have made during the session before the end of the service.
Children’s Club meets on the first Thursday of the month, 5.30 – 6.45pm at Woodseaves School. This is a fun packed evening of games, crafts and a bible story for children of primary school age.
Messy Church Service takes place on the third Sunday of the month, 4 – 5.30pm, alternating between St Lawrence Church, Gnosall and Woodseaves Village Hall. This is a service for all the family to participate in. We have a bible story, a number of activity stations and the evening concludes with a light tea for children and adults.
Good Friday Workshop is an annual event and takes place between 2 – 4pm at Woodseaves School. We have a selection of Easter crafts available for the children to try, some of the favourites include Easter Garden making, Easter bonnets and decorating biscuits. Towards the end of the afternoon we have an Easter bonnet parade followed by a short service.
Summer Holiday Club takes place for one week during the summer holidays, from 9.30am – 12 noon. This is definitely an action packed week. The children are put into teams and each day there is a different message based on the theme for the week. There are also games, crafts and other opportunities to gain team points. Points are accumulated during the week and the winning team is announced at the end of the week.
Please check the calendar to confirm venues for events that alternate.
